Why I Go Dark
Social Media is crazy. It can add to our lives, but it can also so easily subtract. Fitness over 40 is complicated enough without adding a scrolling buffet of comparison to consume. If you’re like me, its a constant battle to be confident in my own loose skin as I age, to stay balanced mentally and physically in my midlife wellness lane, and focus on my own strength enough to brave perimenopause and the very real war of hormones. It does not serve me well to see content with a young lady’s deep squat angled perfectly at the camera lens, or seemingly effortless contours that my forgetful, foggy brain tells me are never bloated, exhausted, or craving carbs.
But, I’m in the Fitness Industry, so I squat too.
So, I’ve decided to edit my content with low exposure … to go DARK for 2 reasons. 1) Since my purpose is to encourage you to take care of yourself, I hope my content will serve and motivate you in a way that you can see YOURSELF doing the healthy, strong things I am doing, and 2) I love black. In my mind, it works for everyone.
I’m a Personal Trainer and a Pilates Instructor, and my passion is to coach midlife women as they attain their best fitness, nutrition, and wellness potential for a healthy, energetic, toned, and balanced life. I design workouts with exercises that are purposeful for building your confidence, customized for your managing your metabolism and comfortable weight, and intentional regarding your past and present injuries, as well as future goals, including mental health. I know you don’t need to know that I can exercise, you need to feel empowered, and enlightened that YOU can. I am hopeful that my journey, and my content, sheds nothing but light, on yours.
